Boarding Requirements and Details

We require proof of immunization on your pets. We keep this information on file, but it is your responsibility to provide us with proof of subsequent vaccinations. WE WILL NOT BOARD ANY PET WHOSE VACCINATIONS ARE NOT CURRENT. We do NOT give shots.

The following vaccinations are required:

DOGS:
* Distemper combination
Parvo
   (This is given seperately or as part of the
Distemper combination vaccine.) PLEASE NOTE: The Distemper combination and Parvo vaccines can be valid for either one or three years- check your paperwork from your veterinarian carefully!
* Bordetella (Kennel Cough) within the past year.
* Current rabies vaccination.

CATS:
* Feline Distemper/upper respiratory. PLEASE NOTE: The upper respiratory combination vaccine can be valid for either one or three years- check your paperwork from your veterinarian carefully!                                                                                                *Current rabies vaccination.

NOTE: If you give your own vaccines, we need to see the receipt with the purchase date on it and the empty vials it came in. Rabies vaccination proof will only be accepted if given by a licensed veterinarian.

Reservations
Please call ahead to reserve your pet's spot. We usually like to have two or three days notice that you're coming, though we can often take your pet in on shorter notice. Holidays are the exception to this- we're often full on holidays, so you should schedule your pet's holiday reservation at least two weeks in advance, a month in advance for Christmas and New Years. Occasionally we do get cancellations and 'no shows' so it's possible to get in, but why take a chance? We'd rather you book in advance and cancel, if necessary, than wait until the last minute and be disappointed.

Dropping off and picking up your pet
Kennel Comfort Pet Motel is one of the few kennels in Tucson having business hours seven days a week. However, we do close on major holidays, and often have special hours on holiday weekends. To avoid disappointment, ask about our holiday schedule.

Food is included
We carry an assortment of dry and canned foods for both dogs and cats. If your pet requires a special diet, or you simply want him or her to continue eating their own food, you may supply all of your own food items.

What to bring with your pet, and what to leave at home

Please bring the following for your pet's comfort;

* Treats

*Toys

* Bed or blanket (Unless your pet likes to chew!)

* Instructions on how much dry and/or canned food your pet receives daily- please figure this out by measuring cup for dry, and tablespoon or amount of each can for wet, as this is how we are able to monitor how much a pet in our care is eating. We have a morning and evening feeding time, so we can accomodate your pet's eating schedule.
* Any medications, supplements, etc. that your pet normally receives.

Please note: We do NOT charge extra for feeding the food or treats you bring for your pet, or for administering medications and supplements. We do, however, require the medication name, dosage (ie., 250mg tablets) , what the medication is being given for (such as diabetes, heart murmer, etc.), and clear instructions on administering the medication.

Please leave the following at home;

*Food and water bowls- For dogs, we use our own stainless steel bowls and have
  buckets that are secured so they cannot be easily tipped over. Kitties have water
  dishes and seperate dry and canned food dishes, all a uniform size for easy disinfection
  and replacement.
